Visit Our Recently Renovated Space
The Northeastern University Archives and Special Collections welcomes all visitors for research, tours, consultations, classes, and events. We hope to provide a warm and welcoming environment for visitors to engage with the history of Northeastern and Boston’s neighborhood activism.
Come visit us to use our reading room for collections research, our classroom for group visits and engagement with collections, and to view our exhibit highlighting the history we are proud to preserve.
To schedule a tour, class, or event, contact Molly Brown and visit our Teaching with Archives page for more information about our instruction program.

Schedule Your Research Visit
We are currently open only by appointment for research visits while our collections remain offsite during the following hours:
- Tuesday: 9:00am to 4:30pm
- Wednesday: 9:00am to 4:30pm
- Thursday: 9:00am to 4:30pm
While our collections remain offsite we ask that you make your appointment at least one week in advance to ensure enough time to retrieve your requested materials. Have questions? Want to schedule a visit? Please email us at [email protected] or use our Contact Archives & Special Collections form.
Schedule a Research Orientation
Not sure where to start in archival research? Archives staff are happy to meet with you to consult about your research and orient you to the resources available in the Archives and Special Collections and walk you through what a research visit in our reading room will look like including steps to request boxes, how to request scans, and how to request permission to publish. Email [email protected] to request a research orientation either virtually or at the beginning of your research visit.
