American Indian Histories and Cultures (Adam Matthew)

Digitized primary source material from the Newberry Librarys extensive Edward E. Ayer Collection, dating from the earliest contact with European settlers up to the mid-twentieth century. 

  • What this includes: manuscripts, art work, newspapers, treaties, speeches,diaries, historic maps,photographs.

Annual Reviews

Scholarly overviews in 37 academic subjects, mostly biomedical sciences, physical sciences, and social sciences. Excellent for finding authoritative overviews of new topics.

BCC Research

Market research reports and forecasts


Over 20,000 pathway/genome databases (PGDBs). BioCyc encyclopedias integrate a diverse range of data and provide a high level of curation for important microbes.

Cabell’s Directories

This service is available courtesy of Northeastern’s D’Amore McKim School of Business Cabell’s Directories includes contact information for journals, useful for finding venues for your publicationsNortheastern University has access to the following directories: Accounting, Economics & Finance, Computer Science, Management, Marketing.

Chicago Manual of Style

Provides information on manuscript preparation, punctuation, spelling, quotations, captions, tables, abbreviations, references, bibliographies, notes, and indexes.

Colonial America (Adam Matthew Digital)

This online collection from the UK National Archives, currently being digitized, covers the period 1606-1822. Among the correspondence are diaries, maps, broadsides, laws, public notices, newspaper clippings, and more. Images of the original documents and searchable full text, also searchable by date, name, theme, region and more.

More Info: The entire collection will eventually consist of all 1,450 files from the CO 5 volumes of original correspondence between the governers of British colonies in North America and the Caribbean, and their responsible departments in Britain.

CQ Press Library (Congressional Quarterly Press)

Almanacs, data, and news publications relating to Congress and the US government.

CQ Press Voting and Elections Collection

Includes data, authoritative analyses, concise explanations, and historical material on the American voter, major and minor political parties, campaigns and elections, and historical and modern races for Congress, the presidency, and governorships.

CQ Researcher

In-depth, authoritative reports on political and social-policy issues extending back to 1923. Each report is footnoted and includes an overview, background section, chronology, bibliography and debate-style pro-con feature.

Foreign Office Files for China, 1919-1980 (Adam Matthew Digital)

This collection makes available all British Foreign Office files dealing with China, Hong Kong and Taiwan between 1919 and 1980.

Includes manuscript, printed and visual primary source materials for the study of global commodities in world history. Over 85,000 tracks, emphasizing classical, but also including world music, jazz, folk, and more, available for streaming. Access is limited to 15 users at a time.

Nikkei Asia

Coverage of Asia’s economic, political, business and technology news in English. Established with a goal to change the way the Asia is covered internationally and to enhance the world’s understanding of pan-Asian affairs.
Also includes data on financial markets and top companies in the region.

Online Tourism and Digital Economies (IGI Global)

A specialized collection of 13 online encyclopedias in the field of hospitality, travel and tourism management, consumer management, e-commerce, the digital divide and developing countries, and more.

Westlaw Campus Research

Search federal and state court cases, statutes and codes as well as European Union laws and regulations. Secondary sources include the American Law Reports and the American Jurisprudence encyclopedia, law reviews, journals, and newspapers.

Women Writers Online (Northeastern University)

Early modern women’s writings from 1400 to 1850. Includes searchable full-text of books, poetry, and speeches as well as browse by date, author, and title. Exhibits and teaching tools also available.

World Shakespeare Bibliography

Annotated citations for all important books, articles, book reviews, dissertations, theatrical productions, reviews of productions, audiovisual materials, electronic media, and other scholarly and popular materials related to Shakespeare. International in scope, 120 languages. 1960 to present.
