About the Thomas J. Shanahan Library

Jonathan is a graduate of Marymount at 2012 with a BA in Communication Arts video production. As of April 2015 Jonathan has taken the position of circulation Manager of the library. Using his prior knowledge as a student worker he is able to best service the Marymount Community.

Aside from working as the circulation manager at Marymount, Jonathan freelances as a Cinematographer. He is also the co-owner of a Pizzeria with his brother in Queens, NY.

His pastime include music collecting (metal genre), attending concerts, going to the movies, video games, and just exploring either the city or events.

Sara received a BA in English and minor in biology from Saint Peter’s University in 2020. During her time as an editor in a pharmaceutical advertising agency, she enrolled at San Jose State University for a Master in Library and Information Science degree. Sara left the agency after two years and became a Library Technician for the Rutgers Health Science Libraries, specializing in Interlibrary Loans. In 2024, she graduated with her MLIS, and she is happy to have joined Shanahan Library in late 2025 as an Electronic Resources and Reference Librarian. Her academic interests include practical and ethical applications of artificial intelligence in library research, data-informed decision making in libraries, and bridging the gap between library resources and user awareness.

Jordan received his bachelors in Communication Art from Marymount Manhattan College in 2003 for film production. He has worked as a cinematographer, editor and media specialist across New York for the past fifteen years. He started working for Marymount’s library in 2003 as the part-time circulation manager but moved to full-time in 2004. As Coordinator of Media he is responsible for distributing and maintaining all of the college’s audiovisual material. His drive is to enhance the learning experience through technology and promote technological literacy.
