Team-Based Learning is an evidence-based instructional strategy that is enjoying widespread adoption across disciplines and solves many problems associated with other forms of “group work.” The approach provides a structured and high-energy format in which students can learn foundational masteries like communication, critical thinking, and decision-making, while still focusing on course material. In this workshop, we will learn about TBL by experiencing it, exploring the structural flaw in most traditional forms of group work and the four practical elements that make TBL so powerfully-effective. Participants will come away with what they need to design high-quality group activities for their courses. |
