"Authorized Users" are:

Current students, faculty, and staff who are primarily affiliated with Northeastern University as well as walk-in users who are permitted access to the secure network from computer terminals within the library premises and who are making inconsequential use of the resources for their scholarly, research, educational or personal use only. Only current students, faculty and staff may access the licensed content remotely.

Authorized Uses:

Authorized Users may make all use of the materials as is consistent with the Fair Use Provisions of United States and international copyright laws. In addition, the Licensed Materials may be used as follows:

  • Access includes retrieving, displaying, searching, downloading, printing and storing of individual articles for scholarly research, educational and personal use. Copying and storing is limited to single copies of a reasonable number of individual articles. Copying and storing of entire issues is not permitted.

  • Authorized Users may use a reasonable portion of the materials in the preparation of Course Packs or other educational materials.

Restrictions on Use:

  • Authorized Users shall not permit anyone other than Authorized Users to use the materials.

  • Authorized Users may not modify, adapt, manipulate, transform, translate or create derivative works based on any materials included licensed from Adis or otherwise use any such materials in a manner that would infringe copyright.

  • Authorized Users may not remove, obscure or modify any copyright or other notices or disclaimers included in the materials.

  • Authorized Users may not utilize the materials for commercial purposes, including but not limited to the sale of the materials, fee-for-service use (commercially as well as non-commercially), or bulk reproduction or distribution in any form.
