Welcome Northeastern University Alumni! 

NU Alumni are welcome to

  • Walk in to any NU library and use our collections on-site, with your NU Alumni ID card;
  • Meet colleagues, work, study, and read in the Alumni Reading Room [1];
  • Borrow a laptop or iPad to use in the Snell Library with your NU Alumni ID card (Register  [2]for borrowing privileges here)
  • Borrow books or videos, CDs and other materials with your NU Alumni ID card (Register  [2]for borrowing privileges here);
  • Connect to online resources, even from off-campus:
    • View a list of online resources [3]available to NU alumni
    • Note: You'll need a myNEU account to log in.  If you graduated before 2008 and you haven't registered yet, it's easy! Get more information and register on Northeastern's Husky Nation  [4]alumni web site. 
  • Connect to NUWave-guest wireless for free Internet at Snell Library, including access to NUCat and research resources;
  • Use Snell Library's public computers for internet browsing.
  • Use RefWorks [5], an online tool for managing and sharing references and formatting documents and bibliographies in styles like MLA, APA, etc.
    • Current users of RefWorks who graduate will be able to use their same account, but should change their profile information to "Alumni" in Tools --> Update User Info.
    • New Alumni users should create an account (please contact a librarian [6] for the special code to do so)

    How to obtain an NU Alumni ID card

    An NU Alumni ID [11] card serves as your library card, providing you access to the university’s vast collection of books and periodicals as well as online research databases, even from the comfort of your own home. Alumni ID cards are available free of charge from the Registrar's Office in 120 Hayden Hall. Check their hours [12] before planning your visit.
