Funding Priorities

To support a world-class research institution like Northeastern University, a premier research library is a necessity. This page describes the library's major fundraising priorities and needs.

Expanding the Collections [4]
The library’s collections are the cornerstone to teaching and learning across campus and as the demand for rich information and content continues to grow, funding for library resources and collections is more important than ever, enabling the rapid delivery of the most valued information to our users.

Enriching the Digital Library [5]
As the University invests in global education and international partnerships and collaborations, Northeastern’s worldwide networks multiply, which in turn increases the number of remote patrons using the library’s digital resources. The library must expand our virtual presence not only by converting print to electronic, but also by establishing our digital repository for the preservation of academic and creative work from the Northeastern community.

Sponsoring the Meet the Author Series [6]
The Meet the Author series brings together the Northeastern community to explore and discuss current issues, with best-selling luminaries such as Pulitzer Prize–winning author Paul Harding and New York Times Magazine columnist Dr. Lisa Sanders.

Supporting Library Co-op Education [7]
The library’s cooperative education program allows Northeastern students to gain a richer understanding of their course studies or career interests in a professional work environment.

Collection Endowments: Establishing a collection endowment [8] in a subject area is a beautiful way to honor a loved one. See Expanding the Collections [4] for more information.

Digital Media Commons: The library is reinventing some of its study spaces and facilities. See Engineering a State-of-the-Art Media Commons [1] for more information.
