Renovations are under way this summer to improve the first floor of Snell Library. This page will tell you what you need to know to navigate Snell over the summer, so check back often for more information! Read all about the plans, and see some renderings of what the new Snell Library will look like.

All library and InfoCommons services will be available during construction on the first floor of Snell Library for the 2013 Summer I/II terms.

Snell Library will remain open 24/7 over the summer for Northeastern Husky Card ID holders, with Regular Service Hours for additional access. Operations will be relocated during the week of April 29th, 2013, with all areas below coming on line in their new locations as of May 6th.

The first floor of Snell Library will reopen for the fall 2013 semester.

 

Library services:

General library information, circulation, reserves, and interlibrary loan services will be available in the Alumni Reading Room, on the first floor of Snell Library. All other areas on the first floor will be closed.

The Digital Media Commons is open 24/7 with Apple and PC workstations, color, and black & white printing.

Research assistance will continue to be available at the DMC information desk.

Argo Tea is closed for the summer.

The Hub (books and DVDs) and the Magazines & Newspapers (the Snell Periodicals browsing collection) can be found on the third floor, in the B call number area, to the left when you exit the main stairwell.

Scanning stations can be found on the second, third, and fourth floors of Snell Library.

Public access computers are on the second floor, outside rooms 291 and 293.

Microform readers and Bloomberg terminals are on the third floor, just outside the main stairwell.

Study spaces are available:

  •     The Digital Media Commons, 294SL, and 295SL: for groups
  •     Snell Library third floor: quiet study space
  •     Snell Library fourth floor: silent study space

Additional group study spaces are available:

  •     153 Snell Engineering

 

InfoCommons services:

Quick Print will be available outside 90SL, on the lower level of Snell Library, accessible from the main stairwell.

The InfoCommons Help Desk will be in Snell Library classroom 246, on the second floor.

Computer workstations, scanning, and printing will be available in the following locations (hours):

  •     90 Snell Library: PC Workstations
  •     219 Snell Library: PC workstations
  •     246 Snell Library: Apple workstations
  •     422 Snell Library: PC workstations
