Entries into Snell Library

This series of charts shows entries by all members of the NU community, including students, faculty, staff, visitors and guests. Both card swipe and sign-ins are included.  Each entry are counted; that is, if one person enters the building 6 times, that is counted as 6 entries.

Data is available by month, day of week, or select any range of dates.

Hourly and Day of Week Entries

All user types, including staff, faculty, and students. Based on swipe entries only, does not include sign-ins.

Data is available by hour, day of week, month, and year.

Student Entries into Snell Library

These charts show student entries only, based on card swipes.  Some students are also employees of the library, so entries for student work shifts as well as library use are included.All entries are counted; that is, if one person enters the building 6 times, that is counted as 6 entries.

Data is available by graduate/undergraduate, by college, and by month.

Faculty Entries into Snell Library

These charts show faculty entries, based on card swipes, and allow you to view either number of entries or number of unique persons.

Data is available by college and by month, and by number of entries, as well as number of discrete individual faculty per month.

An easy-to-use tool for comparing Northeastern's library data to similar data from libraries at other higher education institutions is available from the U. S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics.  (Beginning in FY2014, data will be available as part of the IPEDS program.)  Download data in spreadsheet format to do your own analysis.
